Civil Defence department conducts Safety and Rescue trainings in Lower Chitral Schools

CHITRAL: The Civil Defence Department of Lower Chitral has continued its series of training programs in various educational institutions, providing students with practical skills in emergency preparedness and response.

According to details, under the special directives of Director Civil Defence Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Zahid Usman Kakakhel and Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Mr. Rao Hashim Azeem, a team of Civil Defence instructors — under the supervision of Civil Defence Officer Lower Chitral Mr. Kaleem Ullah — is conducting training sessions in different schools and colleges across the district.

The training campaign, organized by the District Office of Civil Defence Lower Chitral, is being held from October 1 to October 10, 2025, with the objective of promoting discipline, self-confidence, and effective emergency response skills among students, enabling them to protect themselves and others during disasters or accidents.

Institutions participating in the program include the Government Post Graduate College of Management Sciences Lower Chitral, Government Higher Secondary School Ayun, Government High School Hon, and the Al-Khidmat School System Lower Chitral.

Civil Defence instructors are conducting both theoretical and practical sessions during regular class periods, covering essential topics such as Firefighting, Rescue Operations, First Aid, and Incident Control Management.

The initiative aims to nurture a sense of social responsibility, leadership, and community service among youth while building a safer and more resilient society.

Students have shown keen interest and discipline throughout the sessions, while instructors used demonstrations, group activities, and emergency drills to simulate real-life scenarios.

According to Civil Defence Officer Mr. Kaleem Ullah, the program is progressing successfully and is significantly contributing to enhancing students’ practical capabilities and community safety awareness across the district.
