PESHAWAR:Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the Corps Headquarters Peshawar today, where he was given a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.
During the visit, the Army Chief also attended the funeral prayers of the Shuhada of the recent terrorist attack at Bannu Garrison and visited the injured personnel at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bannu. Paying homage to the fallen, the COAS lauded the extraordinary courage and resilience of Pakistan’s security forces in confronting and neutralizing threats, particularly the Indian-sponsored menace of Fitna al-Khawarij.
Reaffirming the nation’s resolve, Field Marshal Munir emphasized that Pakistan remains unyielding in its fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. “Facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism will be hunted down and brought to justice—without exception and at all costs,” he said. He also underscored the imperative of exposing the true face of the regional actors sponsoring terrorism on Pakistani soil.
The Army Chief assured the nation that the blood of every innocent Pakistani will be avenged, and any attempt to destabilize the country will be met with swift and decisive retribution. “Our resolve is unwavering, and our sacrifices will not go in vain,” he added.
Highlighting the need for institutional strengthening, the COAS stressed the importance of enhancing the capacity of civilian law enforcement agencies, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. He urged the concerned government bodies to expedite efforts in this regard and reiterated the Army’s commitment to supporting law enforcement institutions in capability development.
