ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam spokesperson Aslam Ghauri has launched a sharp criticism against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, accusing him of deliberately attempting to sow discord within the opposition alliance to safeguard his government.
In a statement on Friday, Ghauri labeled Gandapur as the “guru” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), alleging that he was defying party founder Imran Khan’s directives by attacking JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Ghauri asserted that PTI’s real challenges stem from internal conspiracies rather than external threats. He accused Gandapur of making divisive remarks aimed at sabotaging efforts to form a Grand Opposition Alliance, warning that such actions would ultimately serve the interests of the ruling government and undemocratic forces.
“The opposition Grand Alliance should not be mistaken for weakness. Every time its formation nears, conspiratorial elements emerge to derail it,” Ghauri stated.
The JUI spokesperson also condemned Gandapur for allegedly mocking religious scholars, calling it an unacceptable insult. He demanded that PTI clarify whether Gandapur’s statements represent the party’s official stance and urged its leadership to be vigilant against internal disruptions.
The statement underscores the escalating political tensions between JUI and PTI as opposition parties strive to consolidate their efforts against the government.
