COAS Munir Presides Over 267th Corps Commanders’ Conference, Reaffirms Pakistan’s Sovereignty

RAWALPINDI: In a high-level military gathering at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir NI (M) presided over the 267th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC). Senior military leaders and officials convened to review the evolving regional and internal security landscape, paying solemn tribute to the sacrifices made by the Shuhada of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and civilians in defense of Pakistan’s peace and stability.

The forum conducted a comprehensive assessment of threats, with particular emphasis on the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary. In a show of solidarity with the people of Kashmir on the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day (5 February 2025), participants strongly condemned the ongoing blatant human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), denouncing them as a grave threat to regional peace and stability.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for self-determination—as outlined in pertinent UN Security Council resolutions—the forum underscored the need for increased international engagement to address these persistent violations. The conference also took serious note of recent reckless and provocative statements from the Indian military leadership, describing them as irresponsible and detrimental to regional stability.

Addressing the forum, COAS General Munir stated,

“Pakistan Army remains fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. These hollow statements from the Indian military are indicative of their growing frustration and serve only to divert attention from their internal fissures and blatant human rights violations. Any misadventure against Pakistan will be responded with full and resolute force of the state, InshaAllah.”

The conference expressed grave concern over the continued use of Afghan soil by extremist elements, urging the Interim Afghan Government to take concrete measures against terrorist activities targeting Pakistan. Emphasis was also placed on accelerating people-centric socio-economic development initiatives in Balochistan, with participants vowing that foreign-sponsored proxies aiming to destabilize the region would be decisively thwarted with the steadfast support of the local population.

Concluding the event, COAS General Munir commended the operational readiness of all military formations and highlighted the importance of sustained mission-oriented training, enhanced military cooperation, and joint exercises in both conventional and counter-terrorism domains. He reaffirmed that the military leadership remains fully cognizant of the multifaceted challenges facing the nation and is resolute in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities with the unwavering support of the people of Pakistan.
