Five-Week Professional Development Program for Teachers Wraps Up in Chitral

CHITRAL: The closing ceremony of the five-week professional development program, “Transforming EFL Settings, Integrating 21st Century Skills for Global Citizens,” was held at Chitral College of Education and Decent College Singoor Chitral. The program, organized by Ms. Nusrat Jabeen, Subject Specialist and TEA alumna, aimed to enhance English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction by incorporating modern educational skills.

The ceremony was attended by notable guests, including District Education Officer Mr. Mehmood Ghaznavi, Deputy Education Officer and TEA Alumnus Mr. Shahid Hussain, Senior Instructor and GOC Alumna Ms. Farkhanda Jabeen, along with Principals Shahid Jalal, Sana Ullah Sani, Nadeem Ahmad, TEA Alumna Mehria Nazli, and Principal of Chitral College of Education Mr. Sardar Ahmed.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Mr. Mehmood Ghaznavi, commended the program’s success and its integration of key educational themes into the curriculum. He expressed his appreciation to the funding agencies for supporting educators’ professional development.

The program trained 30 men and women educators from both private and public sectors, including prospective teachers, who are expected to pass on their knowledge to 250 teachers and 4,480 students. The certificate distribution ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of commitment among participants to implement their enhanced skills in their respective educational institutions.

This training program was funded by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) Pakistan at the U.S. Embassy Islamabad and implemented by Vision-Building Future, this initiative is part of the Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program.
