
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), paid a visit to the Karachi Corps area of responsibility, where he was briefed on the Army’s operational preparedness and key training initiatives. The visit underlined the Army’s focus on ensuring readiness in strategic regions.
A press release by ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan Military, said that in a notable development, COAS inaugurated the Innovista Indus IT Park, a forward-thinking initiative aimed at empowering Pakistan’s youth by fostering collaboration between academia and industry, with a special emphasis on Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, along with prominent members of the civil community. During his address, the Chief Minister emphasized the critical role of the IT sector in harnessing the potential of the youth and driving economic growth.
General Munir echoed these sentiments, stating that projects like Innovista Indus IT Park are vital to creating a conducive environment for the continued expansion of Pakistan’s IT industry, which has already shown promising growth. He underscored the importance of such initiatives in enhancing Pakistan’s global competitiveness in the tech sector.
The COAS also engaged with Karachi’s business community, where he expressed his appreciation for their contributions to the nation’s economic development. The business leaders acknowledged the positive impact of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), praising its efforts to create an enabling environment for economic expansion.
General Munir commended the collective efforts of both federal and provincial governments in supporting these initiatives and noted that attempts to spread despair within society have been countered successfully through the cooperation of all stakeholders.
Additionally, COAS recognized the supportive role of friendly nations, particularly China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, in aiding Pakistan’s economic recovery. He highlighted their assistance across various sectors, which has contributed significantly to Pakistan’s progress.
In his concluding remarks, General Munir reaffirmed his confidence in Pakistan’s bright future, emphasizing the country’s vast resources and potential. He stressed the need for collective belief in Pakistan’s ability to achieve its rightful place in the global community.
Upon his arrival, the COAS was received by the Corps Commander Karachi.
