Forces foil Cross-Border infiltration, Eliminate four high-value Khwarij militants in Bajaur

PESHAWAR: Pakistani security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt by a group of Khwarij terrorists trying to cross into Pakistan from Afghanistan on the night of October 29–30.

According to official sources, vigilant troops detected the movement of the infiltrating militants along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border in Bajaur District. Swift and precise engagement by the security forces effectively neutralized the threat, killing four militants, including a key ringleader, Amjad alias Mazahim, who was a high-value target.

The slain commander, Amjad, served as deputy to Khwarij Noor Wali and headed the Rehbari Shura of the Indian-backed terrorist outfit Fitna al Khwarij. He was one of Pakistan’s most wanted terrorists, carrying a bounty of PKR 5 million. Amjad was deeply involved in orchestrating and directing numerous terrorist attacks inside Pakistan while operating from Afghan territory.

Security officials underscored that the leadership of Fitna al Khwarij, while residing in Afghanistan, continues to plan infiltration attempts into Pakistan to create a false perception of domestic presence and to boost the morale of their dwindling network in Bajaur and Mohmand, which has been severely degraded by ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

The report reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing position that Afghan soil is being exploited by Khwarij elements as a safe haven for conducting terrorist activities against Pakistan. It called on the Interim Afghan Government to take tangible action to prevent its territory from being used by such proxies.

Security forces have launched a follow-up sanitization operation in the area to eliminate any remaining militants. The operation is part of Pakistan’s relentless counter-terrorism drive under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The Pakistan Armed Forces reaffirmed their unwavering resolve to defend the nation’s borders and to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
