Floral wreaths and salute as Chitral’s Martyred soldier Azizullah laid to rest

UPPER CHITRAL:  Chitral Scouts’ martyred soldier Azizullah was laid to rest with full military honors in his native village, Madak, Upper Chitral.

According to details, Sepoy Azizullah, son of Habibullah of 146 Wing Chitral Scouts, embraced martyrdom during a clash with militants at Shen Kandao Post in Landi Kotal, Khyber Agency. His funeral prayers and burial were held in Madak, where he was laid to rest with state honors.

A large number of people, including Commander 144 Wing Chitral Scouts Lieutenant Colonel Tahir Aslam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Anwar, civil and military officers, and local residents, attended the funeral. A smartly turned-out contingent of Chitral Scouts presented a salute, while floral wreaths were laid on the martyr’s grave.

Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Tahir Aslam said that the nation and armed forces stand united against the menace of terrorism. He added that Pakistan Army, Chitral Scouts, and other security agencies will foil the nefarious designs of India-sponsored militants.

He further stated that the armed forces are fully committed to the defense of the motherland and will continue to protect the country and its people with their blood. “We do not fear death; rather, we always step into the battlefield with the desire for martyrdom,” he remarked.
