
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met US President Donald J. Trump at the White House on Wednesday for a high-level luncheon meeting, followed by a visit to the Oval Office.
President Trump was joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Representative for Middle Eastern Affairs Steve Witkoff. Field Marshal Munir was accompanied by Pakistan’s National Security Advisor.
The COAS conveyed Pakistan’s appreciation for President Trump’s role in mediating a recent ceasefire with India, praising his global leadership. President Trump commended Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and the countries’ strong counter-terrorism cooperation.
Both sides discussed expanding ties in trade, technology, energy, and strategic cooperation, while also addressing the ongoing Iran-Israel crisis. Field Marshal Munir invited President Trump to visit Pakistan, which Trump welcomed.
The two-hour meeting underscored renewed momentum in US-Pakistan relations and a shared commitment to stability and strategic collaboration.
