Only two countries are open enemies of Muslims worldwide: Israel and Modi’s India, Lt Gen Sami Sadat

ISLAMABAD: Former Deputy Chief of Army Staff of the Afghanistan Army, Lieutenant General Sami Sadat, has said that in the current global landscape there are only two countries and their governments that are openly thirsty for Muslim blood and pursuing anti-Muslim policies; Israel and India under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

He was speaking in an exclusive interview with renowned Pakistani journalist Hassan Khan.

The former Afghan general said that Israel’s ongoing oppression and brutality against Muslims are evident to the entire world, while the repression, injustice, and extremist actions against Muslims in India since Narendra Modi came to power are no longer hidden from anyone.

According to Lt Gen Sami Sadat, the lives of Indian Muslims have been made miserable during the Modi era. He said that the religious, cultural, and social identity of Muslims is being deliberately targeted under a well-planned strategy; their businesses, properties, and assets are being damaged; mosques and other sacred sites are being desecrated; and all of this is being carried out as part of a calculated anti-Muslim agenda.

Commenting on the growing relations between India and the Taliban government in Afghanistan, the former Afghan general said that a leader who has become an enemy of Muslims in his own country cannot possibly be a friend of Muslims in Afghanistan. He added that the core objective of Narendra Modi’s policies is to weaken Muslims in the region and create further divisions among them.

In the nearly one-hour-long interview, General Sami Sadat also shared his views in detail on Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, the issue of Afghan refugees, the current internal situation in Afghanistan, the anti-Taliban movement, the severe challenges faced by the Afghan people, and the role of neighboring countries in the region.

He emphasized that for lasting peace and stability in the region, it is essential to end hatred-based policies against Muslims and adopt a system of governance founded on justice.
