PESHAWAR: A brave soldier of Chitral Scouts embraced martyrdom while another sustained injuries during a terrorist attack by Fitna al-Khawarij militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Ursoon Valley of Drosh Tehsil.
According to details, the incident occurred in the Ursoon sector along the border adjoining Afghanistan’s Nuristan Province. The terrorists launched a quad-copter attack targeting security personnel on duty, resulting in the martyrdom of one Chitral Scouts soldier and injuries to another.
The incident once again reinforces Pakistan’s longstanding position that terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij are operating from Afghan territory and that Afghan soil continues to be used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
Following the attack, Chitral Scouts responded swiftly and effectively. During the retaliatory operation, several Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists are believed to have been killed.
