
CHITRAL: Preparations have officially commenced for the Corps Commander XI Corps Football Cup, announced by the Corps Commander Peshawar, Lieutenant General Omar Ahmed Bukhari, for the youth of Chitral. The registration process for clubs and teams wishing to participate in the tournament has also been launched.
According to details, during his recent visit to Chitral, the Corps Commander Peshawar announced to arrange a high-standard football tournament aimed at promoting healthy recreational activities among the youth.
In pursuance of this announcement, Chitral Scouts has initiated practical arrangements for the event. Preparations are being finalized in collaboration with the District Administration, the District Football Association (DFA), and the District Sports Office.
All administrative affairs of the tournament are being supervised by Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Bin Abbas, Commander of the 143 Wing, Chitral Scouts, while the concerned departments are working jointly to ensure the successful organization of the event.
The Corps Commander XI Corps Football Cup is expected to kick off in the first week of next month, featuring teams from both Upper and Lower Chitral.
Under the tournament rules, only local players will be eligible to participate, while out-of-district players will not be allowed to compete.
The announcement of the tournament has generated tremendous enthusiasm among football players, clubs, and sports enthusiasts across Chitral. Local youth and members of the sporting community have welcomed the initiative as a significant step towards the promotion of football in the district and have appreciated the efforts of the Corps Commander Peshawar, the Pakistan Army, and Chitral Scouts for providing young athletes with a valuable competitive platform.
It is worth mentioning that during his visit to Chitral, Lieutenant General Omar Ahmed Bukhari also announced the construction of a modern, state-of-the-art football ground in the district. Preliminary work to implement the project is currently underway.
